About the process
Within our company we have sector for tumbling and blasting of overflow burr on pieces which is created after production with compression and injection molding technology.
Our cryogenic deflashing sector has a long experience with variety of products, and can provide precision cleaning and guarantee the imperfection-free quality of these products.
How it works?
Rubber and plastic parts are placed in a stainless steel parts basket, which rotates in a blast chamber evenly exposing all parts to the blast media. Liquid nitrogen lowers the interior temperature, freezing the flashing to make it brittle. The high-speed impeller shoots polycarbonate plastic pellets into the chamber. Traveling at high speeds, these pellets cleanly trim off the inner and outer diameter flashing of parts in one operation.
Cryogenic deflashing is the most cost-effective and efficient method of removing excess material (flash) left over from injection and compression pressing.
This process can be applied to large number different materials, such as:
- Rubber
- Silicone
- Plastic
- Duroplast
- LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer), etc.
Advantages of using cryogenic deflashing technology:
- The cost per part is well below any alternative technique
- High quality of cleaned pieces
- The process is computer controlled (removing the human
operator variable from the process) - The process offers consistent results from lot to lot
